Day 10 + 11

22 juli 2017 - Ekehaar, Nederland

Hello!

The final days... We were driven to the train station by Pam, where we would take the bus to Carlisle. We were a bit early but luckily so, because the bus was almost full. It took us about one hour to get to Carlisle where we would take the train to Newcastle. The same thing happened here: we were early but it was quite busy already. Unfortunately we weren't there early enough to have a spot where we could sit with the four of us (two women had taken up that space with their luggage...) so we could not really play games, which was the original plan. It took us another hour to get to Newcastle. We arrived at around 1pm, so we could have lunch there and wander around for a bit. Eventually we ended up at the bus station playing games, waiting for the shuttle bus to pick us up. We went through border control smoothly and soon we were on the boat. We decided to drink something in a cafe so that we could have a table to play games on. We went to bed quite early, because we would have to get up early the next day.

Getting off the boat and onto Dutch soil was a lot easier than it was in Scotland - border control is way less strict. We were picked up by Marjolein's father who brought us all home safely.

The end of our internship and also the start of the summer holidays (planning on point)... I really really enjoyed the internship: the people were lovely, the work was fine and the campsite was nice. 10/10 would recommend.

Thank you for reading for this is the end of my internship blog!
