Day 6
17 juli 2017 - Marthrown of Mabie, Verenigd Koninkrijk
Hello!
Today we worked again after our day off yesterday. We were instructed to limewash the walls in the Roundhouse for it to work as a fire retardant, because the roof is made of straw. We had to mix the lime with water in order to make it more liquid and easier to ‘paint’ with. The walls already had a coating of lime, but you have to redo it every once in a while. However, I did not like this as much as the painting. It is less satisfying, because you cannot see the result: the walls are still white. It is not like we have a choice though, so we just continued working. Today, we finished the upper part of the walls (I don’t think they had expected us to finish so soon though) and tomorrow we will do the lower part of the walls. We will probably have another day off later this week, but I am not sure when that will be, as we will finish the Roundhouse tomorrow and we still have two days to go after that. We will see.
See you tomorrow!
